Cash sales
A cash sale is a sale paid on the spot by cash, M-Pesa or card. There is no invoice to chase: the sale and the money are recorded together.
Making a cash sale
- Open Sales > Cash sales and choose New cash sale.
- Choose a customer, or leave it as a walk-in. A walk-in buyer who wants their KRA PIN on the receipt can give it.
- Choose how they paid and enter the M-Pesa code or reference. The money goes to the matching account (Cash, M-Pesa or Bank); you can change it.
- Add the lines. Prices usually include VAT on a cash sale, so Prices include VAT starts ticked.
- Save cash sale, then Print the receipt.
Saving numbers it (RCT-00001), posts the sale, the VAT and the money received, and sends it to KRA eTIMS when eTIMS is switched on.
Mistakes
A cash sale keyed by mistake can be voided with a reason. For goods brought back later, use a credit note.
