Leave

Staff ask for leave from My leave and pay, on their phone or computer. Their supervisor approves it.

Asking for leave

Choose the type (annual, sick, maternity, paternity, compassionate, study or unpaid), the first and last day, and a reason. Weekends aren't counted. Annual leave can't go over the days left for the year.

Deciding

The request goes to the employee's supervisor (Reports to on their employee record), or their department head. HR managers and the Owner can decide any request. Nobody can approve their own.

Open People > Leave to see requests waiting, approve or decline them, and see everyone's annual leave left this year.

Entitlement

Each employee has a number of annual leave days a year (21 working days is the legal minimum in Kenya). Approved unpaid leave is taken off that month's basic pay.

Public holidays are not taken off the day count yet; adjust the dates if leave spans one.
