Online shop
Your own shop page on the web, where customers order the products you choose and pay by M-Pesa or when they collect. Orders go straight into MannaBooks; there is nothing to retype.
Opening the shop
- Settings > Online shop: tick Shop is open, write a short welcome, and choose:
- whether customers can collect, you deliver, or both, and the delivery fee;
- whether they may pay on pickup or delivery.
- On each product to sell online, open it in Sales > Products, tick Sell online, and add a picture link if you have one.
- Copy your shop link from Settings (it looks like
…/shop/your-business) and share it on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or your website.
To let customers pay by M-Pesa when they order, connect your paybill or till in M-Pesa (Daraja). Without it, customers pay when they collect or receive their order.
What customers see
- Your products with their prices including VAT, by category, with a search. Stock items that have run out show Out of stock.
- A basket, then their name, phone, collect or deliver (and where), and how they pay.
- Paying by M-Pesa sends a prompt to their phone straight away; they enter their PIN and the order shows Paid.
- A private order page that shows where the order is: Received, Confirmed, Ready, Completed. If a prompt failed, they can send it again from there.
Handling orders
New orders appear in Sales > Online orders, with a count in the menu.
- Confirm it once you have checked you can fill it; the customer sees Confirmed.
- Mark ready when it is packed: Come and collect it or It's on its way.
- When the customer has it, choose Collected or Delivered: complete.
- Paid by M-Pesa online: the payment is used for the sale.
- Paying now: choose how they paid (cash, M-Pesa code, card or bank).
Completing records a cash sale at the products' prices, with delivery as its own line, and takes the items out of stock. Find it in Sales > Cash sales.
Cancel an order you can't fill, with a reason the customer sees. An order already paid by M-Pesa must be refunded first.
Good to know
- Stock is checked when the order is placed and again when you complete it; the shop never sells what you have marked out of stock.
- M-Pesa takes whole shillings, so a total with cents is rounded up on the prompt.
- The Cashier and Sales roles can handle online orders; completing one also needs the right to record cash sales.
