Point of sale
The till is a fast screen for selling over the counter. Each sale is a cash sale linked to the cashier's shift.
Before you start
A manager adds the tills (Point of sale > Tills): a name, the branch, and which accounts cash, M-Pesa and card money go into.
Selling
- Open Point of sale > Till and open a shift: choose the till and count the cash already in the drawer (the float).
- Tap products, search, or scan a barcode (the product code) and press Enter. For a product with other units (a carton, a crate), change the unit under its name in the cart; the price changes with it.
- For a loyalty customer, enter their phone or card number: their prices and points appear.
- Choose how they pay:
- Cash: enter the cash received to see the change.
- M-Pesa: send a prompt to their phone, or type the code from their M-Pesa message.
- Card: optionally enter the slip number.
- Print slip for an 80 mm receipt printer, or go straight to the next sale.
Closing the shift
Choose Close shift and count the drawer. MannaBooks compares it with what it expected (float plus cash sales). A difference is posted to Cash over and short, so the books match the drawer. Shifts shows every shift with its takings by payment method.
Each cashier sees their own shifts; managers see all of them.
